Brent received his Master’s in Physical Therapy from Wichita State University in 2006 and is the PT Director for Mid-America Orthopedics Kansas City. After graduation Brent worked on an APTA accredited Manual Therapy Fellowship with The Manual Therapy Institute from 2007-2011, in which he became a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists. The clinical and didactic instruction of the fellowship is intensive and includes an extensive mentored clinical experience that provides advanced clinical skills with hands-on treatments and manipulations. In 2012 Brent became a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists. In 2012-2013 Brent received Fellow status after completing his second APTA accredited Movement Science Fellowship with Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. The Movement Fellowship provides intensive training to promote therapists’ abilities to critically and systematically establish diagnoses for movement impairment syndromes, select interventions, and facilitate patient’s achievement of optimal functional status. Brent completed a Therapeutic Pain Specialist Certification through The International Spine and Pain Institute that provides advanced clinical competency and therapeutic approaches in treating people with chronic pain and how to prevent it. Brent is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and a Certified Special Population Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
